Carolina Ballet presents a world premiere ballet set to Un Bal (A Ball), the second movement of Hector Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique. It is one of the most popular pieces of symphonic music and features a timeless storyline about a young artist who is haunted by the imagined image of the ideal woman everywhere he goes. Also on this program, Zalman Raffael will create a world premiere and Artistic Director Robert Weiss presents his work, A Dancerly Response, to J.S. Bach’s A Musical Offering, composed for Frederick II of Prussia.
