Freeform Review:
This ballet is one of my all time favorites - and PNW did not dissapoint.
I attended dress rehearsal night which I love, because final corrections are still being made. There were some spots still being worked and the wedding coda was being danced a little lighter. (Only 25 fouettes rather than 32 as an example.) Tom Skerrit played the part of the Don. Every dancer, from soloist to corp was incredible, the pas des action (scenes) superbly acted. PNW's roots are NYCB and Peter Boal is the dance master. The influences of NYCB were evident in the performance. It was a three act treat and a bit of a master class, that was over far too fast. Bravo and Brava to the entire company. Merde!
