AUDIENCE REVIEW: Alessandra Corona Danceworks in "Fervida" and "Status Quo"
Company:
Alessandra Corona Performing Works
Performance Date:
April 27, 2024
Freeform Review:
As ardent fans of modern dance, we can't think of a better way to spend an eveneng than to attend a performance choreographed and staged by Alessandra Corona Danceworks. Corona herself is a lithe, athletic and accomplished dancer. Her gifted troupe reflects her vision.
The repertoire addresses mythology, politics, poetry, and celebrates the beauty and capability of the human body to transcend space. The latest pieces, Fervida and Status Quo celebrate the dance troupe's ability to convey plot and story as the dancers move seamlessly toward and away from each other. The staging is arresting; and the music, including an original piece composed by Thomas Lentakis, envelope us and become a pitch perfect cousnterpoint to the unfolding performance.
Brava!
