Performances by Nimbus' Female Dancers,
with Special Guest, Principal Ballerina Sarah Lane
To Ascend features an all-star lineup of female dance artists, including Nimbus’ powerful company women, and featured guest, Sarah Lane, Principal Ballerina renowned for her 18 luminous years with American Ballet Theater, who performs Empty Space, a new work created for her by Nimbus Artistic Director Samuel Pott.
The event provides an intimate view into the deeply personal process of these exceptional dance artists as they perform works by Dr. Pearl Primus, Dawn Marie Bazemore, and Samuel Pott. Choreographer, educator, and arts leader, Ms. Bazemore leads a discussion revealing the unique challenges, triumphs, and personal stories of these female dance artists at the pinnacle of the dance field.
