The LayeRhythm Experiment Lays Improv on the Line with Monthly Jam Sessions for Street/Club Dancers and Musicians at 92Y Harkness Dance Center
The LayeRhythm Experiment (TLE), a popular live music and dance collective centering street/club culture, is stepping up to help dancers, musicians, and audiences overcome the isolation and fatigue of the pandemic by providing monthly freestyle-based performances (through May 13, 2022), offering a unique forum for multidisciplinary collaboration, theatrical improv, and community building, held at the 92Y Harkness Dance Center, 1395 Lexington Ave, New York, NY 10128.
The performances create for NYC’s street/club dance community--one that has been particularly devastated by the prolonged shuttering of venues that are essential labs for its creative trials and tribulations--an interactive environment in which audiences and artists, musicians and dancers are equal collaborators in a rewarding act of improvisation.
