VALENTINA KOZLOVA WELCOMES A PERFORMANCE BY DANCERS FROM
THE STATE BALLET OF GEORGIA, DIRECTED BY NINA ANANIASHVILI
Tuesday April 18, 1:30 PM performance
at the Kaye Playhouse, 68th St. between Park & Lexington
Valentina Kozlova is happy to welcome the return of Nina Ananiashvili as one of VKIBC's judges,
and to open the 2023 Competition with a short performance of the State Ballet of Georgia, currently on a U.S. tour.
The afternoon will open Tuesday April 18 with a 1:30 PM performance by the Georgian company,
and will continue at 2 PM with Round 1 Classical Ballet, of the Competition.
Kozlova and Ananiashvili enjoy very similar backgrounds:
- They were trained at the Bolshoi School,
- They were principal dancers with the Bolshoi Ballet,
- They were both honored to have Raissa Struchkova as their coach,
- In the U.S. Ananiashvili danced with ABT while Kozlova appeared for 13 years with NYCB,
- Both artists continue to teach, coach, and direct, sharing their artistry and knowledge with the next generation.
