Phora: A Choreographic Installation
A special installation and live performance event by Alaina Wilson - Wednesday, October 27th, 2021, 7:30pm & 8:30pm EST.
Following a summer 2021 residency at the Catwalk Institute, Catskill, NY, and with support from the New York City Artist Corps, Alaina Wilson Dance is pleased to present Phora, an installation bringing together live dance, sculpture, and film, featuring choreography and performance by Alaina Wilson, with Maranda Barry, and original music by Jon Lloyd.
Inspired by stone-tool technology and the development of spoken language, Phora draws on anthropological and archaeological research to consider manifestations of language within the body: fostering deep connections between bodies and objects that extend across environments and across time.
Advanced tickets are recommended for this free event. The use of face coverings inside the installation will be required.
