Welcome the summer at PS21 with a bold new work from one of the leading figures in contemporary flamenco. In 2021, Guerrero received the National Dance award by the Spanish Ministry of Culture, and continues to spearhead a new generation of flamenco artists redefining this traditional music and dance art form for the 21st century. At PS21, she will perform UNIQUE, an original solo flamenco work created specifically for our venue, with live music by guitarist Guillermo Guillén and cantaor Ismael Fernández. Patricia Guerrero’s choreography combines modern and traditional elements of flamenco in work both playful and contentious, performative and private. Dance Europe magazine calls her performances "fast, exciting, and full of invention."
