Matthew Westerby Company & Hudson Guild Theatre Company present "Migratory Patterns" & Other Works
Company:
Matthew Westerby Company & Hudson Guild Theatre Company
Migratory Patterns is a new work by choreographer Matthew Westerby, in collaboration with co-producer Jim Furlong. The production is performed by a multi-generational cast of professional dancers alongside community dancers from Hudson Guild Theatre Company, and set to a commissioned score played live by composers John P. Hastings and Travis Just.
Inspired by the phenomenon of migration, the piece represents the personal heritage and identity of each performer. The content was developed through creative workshops that facilitated dialogue, movement making, and collaboration across the spectrum of age and experience.
The program also features the premiere of a new duet titled Autonomous States and a performance by MWC 2.
In the case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to October 6 at 6 PM.
