Janis Brenner & Dancers at NuVu Festival
Company:
Janis Brenner & Dancers
Janis Brenner & Dancers appears at the newly-returned NuVU Festival (after a 3-year pandemic delay) at LaGuardia Performing Arts Center in LIC, to perform the acclaimed "Where-How-Why Trilogy" for the first time in 7 years. These performances reunite the women in JB&D, Esme Boyce (in her original solo), Kara Chan, and Kyla Barkin who'll be performing Brenner's original role.
This festival is a shared show with 5 other beautiful NY companies — emerging, mid-career and established artists — including Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company (and a tribute to her), Gabrielle Lamb Pigeonwing Dance, Spark Movement Collective, Patrick O'Brien Company, Mika and Company.
"Where-How-Why Trilogy" is a subtly virtuosic meditation on questions we ask ourselves about continung on the artistic path. At its premiere: "a cultural pleasure..." — David St.-Lascaux, Interrupting Infinity, October 2013
