Cameron Barnett and Fiona Schlegel Present "Must Come Down" at Kestrels
Company:
Cameron Barnett and Fiona Schlegel
We gather to dance and sing, to commemorate a great tragedy as the next looms on the horizon. When the terrible weight crashes down, we bear the immensity with desperate physicality. Through the struggle, a silent force swings like the tide, like a promise: The further it is pulled in one direction, the heavier it falls in the other.
Presented by Cameron Barnett and Fiona Schlegel, Must Come Down is a rowdy historical remix told in two parts. Original folk music written and performed live by Bernadette Bradley accompanies direction and choreography by Cameron Barnett, while eight dancers sweat through moments of collision, kinship, gall, and tenderness.
