Company:
COMPLEXIONS Contemporary Ballet
“A matchless American dance company” (Philadelphia Inquirer), COMPLEXIONS Contemporary Ballet in its 28th season is thrilled to return to The Joyce with its signature boundary-breaking style.
The evening features the world premiere of SNATCHED BACK from the EDGES, a stirring testament to the indelible human spirit set to a diverse soundtrack of spoken word from the film “Black is Beautiful,” and music ranging from Beethoven and Jessye Norman to Aloe Blac and gospel legends Shirley Cesar and Yolanda Adams.
The company will present last season's retro-style ballet, LOVE ROCKS, with music by the iconic Lenny Kravitz. The roster also includes TRULY, MADLY, DEEPLY, a compilation of short vignettes and audience favorites that capture the infinite beauty and grit of the heart.
