CANCELED: Dance Industry Census Roundtable Discussion Series in Upstate New York
Company:
Dance/NYC
***This event is canceled.
After careful consideration, Dance/NYC is canceling the Dance Industry Census Roundtable Discussion at Purchase College Dance Theatre Lab on Wednesday, February 15, in light of a number of Dance/NYC staff recently falling ill.
This decision is aligned with three priorities:
• Centering wellness as core to our Justice, Equity and Inclusion values
• Keeping our dance community healthy and safe
• Acknowledging when capacity changes mean we can no longer proceed as planned
Even with these considerations, this has been a difficult decision, and we offer our sincere apologies to those it may inconvenience.
Westchester and Rockland County dance workers and organizations, your representation in the Census data is crucial to ensuring a holistic picture of the dance industry. We encourage you to please join us for our virtual event next week, Wednesday, February 22 at 6:30 p.m. on Zoom.
Dance/NYC invites dance workers, organizations, and entities to join us for the Dance Industry Census Roundtable Discussion Series to capture real life stories from our industry.
These roundtable discussions are an opportunity for you to have your unique perspective as a dance worker or organization recognized and provide the dance community with a better understanding of the size, makeup, health and state of the dance ecosystem in order to address economic inequities in the field. Your participation will help Dance/NYC influence and advocate for meaningful change in policies and practices that directly impact the dance industry, its many workers and organized entities.
Data collected will be analyzed by Dance/NYC and presented in aggregate form in Dance/NYC’s State of NYC Dance research report, to be published in Fall 2023.
