Celebrate our birthday with us by celebrating artists from all over the world! We welcome our community of artists and arts supporters to join us for the B. Create. 2021 Symposium.
After the success of the first B. Create. Symposium in 2020, which marked the birth of B. Create., our team is delighted to be running a second symposium! In our 2020 symposium, the COVID-19 pandemic ignited our focus on exploring what it looked like to begin to shift to creating art and community digitally. We welcomed attendees and performers from all around the world as we began to grow our community.
The 2021 Symposium will take place over one day, with three events: “Moving Towards a Higher Vibration”, OPEN MIC: On Film, and OPEN MIC 7.0. These events specifically cater to the needs of artists after over a year of the pandemic - and provide a chance for us to celebrate what has come out of the past year. Artists provide such value to the world and we want to celebrate you and your creativity. The B. Create. Symposium provides artists and supporters of the arts with opportunities to be reminded of what it is to be an artist and embrace what it is to be an artist in the world now.
The day will start with “Moving Towards a Higher Vibration”, a workshop in collaboration with HartHeals. Through movement, meditation, reflection and discussion, this workshop holds a space for participants to be guided and provided with tools to practice resiliency and embrace the abundance that comes with moving freely.
The second event of the day will showcase an assortment of dance films from all across the globe. This has been a big year for dance films - and we want to give them a chance to really shine during our symposium!
And we couldn't possibly have a celebration without an OPEN MIC! This event has become a B. Create. tradition, featuring a mix of returning and new artists each month and bringing together an international community from all over the world to share in an afternoon/evening/morning (depending on where you are!) of live art. We'll be wrapping up our symposium with OPEN MIC 7.0 - join us to celebrate the artistry of our friends for another incredibly special night of live performance.
“MOVING TOWARDS A HIGHER VIBRATION”
A B. Create. x HartHeals workshop @ 10 AM EST
This workshop is an opportunity for us to facilitate the safe space that we desire as artists. Through the workshop, we aim to be in community, moving together, releasing stresses (and beyond), moving with curiosity, mindfulness, and with a spirit of play and gratitude. Facilitators will lead exercises that seek to guide these explorations above, while reminding us of our own resilience and creativity as human beings. The B. Create Team. and HartHeals have come together in collaboration to create this special opportunity for us to improvise, meditate, visualise, and foster community discussion.
OPEN MIC: ON FILM

What happens to artists in a pandemic? First came zoom, then came dancing on zoom, and then came the dance films! Artists have been creating dance films all along, but this time has certainly provided a unique outlet. After over a year of living in a pandemic, we have seen the resiliency of our community emerge on screen. We are hosting an afternoon/evening to screen some of the incredible dance films created by an international group of artists. Join us for the screening and a discussion with the artists afterwards about how they have shifted their focus to still create art in this changed world we are living in.

Come one, come all, to the one year anniversary of the B. Create. community classic: OPEN MIC. To celebrate this momentous occasion, OPEN MIC 7.0 will feature a tremendous roster of artists performing live from all over the world. Whether it’s dance, music, poetry, comedy, you name it, this variety show surprises and delights our audiences, thanks to the brilliance of our community of artists. This event started in the first Symposium and has continued every other month ever since. It’s something that we always look forward to and we cannot wait to round off the day with this special event.
