Axons Dance Theatre is proud to present our inaugural theatre performance at Manhattan Movement and Arts Center! Since its launch in 2019, Axons Dance Theatre has been invited to perform in various festivals including 7MPR Midnight Performances, Dance Astoria, International Human Rights Festival, NACHMO…etc. This will be our very first full theatre show by ourselves!

Led by Artistic Director Joan Liu and Associate Director Saeko (Rio) Hayashi, Axons Dance Theatre hope to encourage communication through the art of dance. This show will include premieres and some of our audience favorites including Casual Times (partial premiere), Dinolates (partial premiere), Soar. Glide. Flap., Spy, Escapement, Really? Really!, Belong-ing…etc. featuring dancers Raquel Beauchamp, Lucia Elledge, Jessica Frazier, Saeko (Rio) Hayashi, Marisa Pisano, Emma K. Sniegowski, and Lilli Wang (apprentice). There will be some serious moments, some science moments, and lots of fun moments!

The performance will be following up-to-date Covid-19 practices for the safety and enjoyment of artists, crew, and audiences. All audience members will be required to wear a mask, and all attendees over the age of 5 must be fully vaccinated.

Axons Dance Theatre is fiscally sponsored by The Field. Subsidized rental space generously supported by Mark Morris Dance Group’s Subsidized Rehearsal Space-Priority Access Program. Please visit our website and/or our social media Instagram/Facebook: @AxonsDanceTheatre for more information.
