At the heart of this show is an exploration of the loss and change that undergird the experience of grief.
How, what, and when do we grieve? What causes us to grieve? Are there possible benefits to grieving?
Through a series of interconnected vignettes, the show will provide an opportunity for the collaborating artists to explore what grief means to them on a variety of topics. The arc of the show will also be foregrounded in various models of the stages of grief (both the five- and seven-stage models), highlighting shock/denial, pain and guilt, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. Instead of taking the audience through the stages of grief in a linear fashion, we will flow from piece to piece reflecting on the last two years, along with other moments in our life, and attempting to process what this pandemic has meant for us as artists. We will take this as an opportunity to observe where we find ourselves now and muse on what possibilities lie in the future after this grief has changed us and made us new.
