A DIVINE ABNORMAL: CLYMOVE Dance's 5th Anniversary Season

CLYMOVE’s Annual Gala and NYC Season centers on women’s mentorship and will honor Ana Marie Forsythe and in memoriam Denise Jefferson (both having been Clymene Aldinger’s advisors at The Ailey School (1998-2002). Current Co-Director of The Ailey School/Director of the Ailey Fordham BFA Program, Melanie Person, will serve as Gala Chair and present this year’s honorees with the Elisa Monte Leadership Legacy Award (established in 2023 for its namesake and Aldinger’s Artistic Advisor Elisa Monte) on opening night, March 19th, 2025. All four evenings, the program will include six works, a return of commissioned choreographer and founding dancer JoVonna Parks’ “Inner Tides”, as well as 4 works of repertory spanning 2019-2025, and the World Premiere of Aldinger’s new creation “Martha Always Said”.
