The Washington Ballet
September 5 sees the Washington Ballet's new Artistic Director Edwaard Liang kick off the 2024-2025 season at Wolf Trap.
This intersection of tradition and innovation features George Balanchine’s timeless Stravinsky Violin Concerto as well as two pieces celebrating Balanchine’s legacy and pushing the boundaries of dance. Liang’s own Murmuration mirrors the awe-inspiring patterns of starling flocks in flight, showcasing the beauty of collective movement and the power of unity in dance, while a new work by Jennifer Archibald previews her world premiere later this season.
The inspiring program offers a look ahead at what to expect from Liang’s inaugural season.
