Dance Visions NY, under the direction of Beth Jucovy, will be back at Elmont LibraryTheater with a premiere of a new program “Art and Music in Motion.”
The concert features new dance and dance/theater works with projected imagery, adding new layers to series’ of original paintings by visual artists Ilene Isseks and Susan Ruth Cohen. Featured is the premiere of “Subway Windows,” a work in which groups of diverse subway riders engage in the NY ritual of ignoring each other. As they bide their time on the train, we get glimpses into each riders’ psyche, their thoughts and dreams. The piece is a collaboration with the visual artist as well as the 8 superb dancer/choreographers.
The concert will also feature dance pieces inspired by songs sung live by Farah Chandu and Willow Women's Choir and the dynamic duo of Rose Gunter and Elysa Sunshine. With 11 diverse company dancers.
Concert is free and open to the public.
