NEW YORK THEATRE BALLET SCHOOL ANNOUNCES REFRAMED, CONVERSATIONS ON ART & ARTISTS
Evening Discussions, beginning October 27 at 7:45 P.M.
To Be Led by Jane Royal, Art Historian and Museum Educator
New York Theatre Ballet School announces the return of Reframed, its popular in-house monthly series of conversations considering artists and works of art through unique and unexpected lenses. Each of the nine installments will examine artists or themes that can enhance the appreciation of viewing art and other art forms including dance.
Evenings lectures, led by art historian and educator Jane Royal, are held at 7:45PM at NYTB School’s studios at 131 E. 10TH Street in New York City. A Q&A session and refreshments will follow each session. Each Reframed lecture is available for $25 each, with the entire nine-lecture series offered for $175. Guided museum tours of The Metropolitan Museum of Art or the Museum of Modern Art are available to Reframed participants for $10. About Jane Royal
Jane Royal has been working in museums as an educator for more than 25 years. She has worked with the collections at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, The Whitney Museum of American Art, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Reynolda House Museum of American Art, and the Jewish Museum, among others. In her work, Jane is particularly interested in the ways that the study of visual material culture can be integrated into the exploration and understanding of History as well as in the development of visual literacy and critical thinking skills for all audiences. She earned a BA in Art History from Davidson College, a Graduate Certificate in Museum Studies from the Harvard University Extension School, and a MEd from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education.
