Class Description:
"Crip Time, in real-time" disrupts the continuing pressures of capitalist movement and productivity that negates and blocks disabled+ bodies from moving in their own time(s) and with disabled+ communities. Real-time is often attributed to computing systems, quick-pacing, and short deadlines. How may our bodies reclaim and reorient real-time in multiplicative Crip space? Through stasis-filled meditations, movement improvisation, accessible “listening" activities, and optional conversation, we will simultaneously practice individual choice-making and collective engagements while creating redefinitions in current time. No rush, being with the ongoing and ever-changing liberated pacing of each body. Participants are encouraged to have somewhere to author text for this workshop (i.e. voice to text, pencil and paper, computer/cell phone notes app, etc.). This workshop is open to those who identify as disabled+ and non-disabled.
Our festival passes are offered on a donation-based sliding scale, no one will be turned away because of a lack of funds.
