The TAKE ROOT series at Green Space is proudly entering its 18th season! It is our goal to aid in the continued development and performance of new dance work of various aesthetics, providing choreographers with a opportunity to produce their work. This curated, once-a-month series supports dance makers by providing our venue, Green Space, with technical and marketing support for a paired evening of work. Green Space's curated TAKE ROOT program will provide this opportunity selected seasoned artists based in NYC, 30 years of age or older (**minimum of 8 years professional experience required**).
The series will focus on presenting work within the theme of PUSHING THE BOUNDARIES OF DANCE. This can include experimental and performance work that comments on or raises awareness of political and social issues, including but not limited to race, gender, sexuality, equality, and justice. We are looking to push the boundaries of the dance form and provide a platform for BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, differently-abled, and other historically under-represented communities of artists.
