Garnet Henderson former editor and contributor to The Dance Enthusiast, is originally from Jackson Hole, Wyoming. She moved to New York City to study at Columbia University, where she graduated cum laude with a BA in Dance (through the Barnard College Department of Dance) and English. While at Columbia/Barnard, Garnet performed in original works by Ori Flomin, Kyle Abraham, David Parker, Larry Keigwin, Reggie Wilson, Colleen Thomas, Faye Driscoll, and Heidi Henderson. Garnet is also a choreographer and has presented her work in Jackson Hole, New York City, and Paris, France. She has co-created two dance films and is developing an ambitious new dance film project. Most recently, Garnet appeared in Mark Dendy's "Ritual Cyclical" at the Lincoln Center Out of Doors Festival and DanceNOW at Joe's Pub. Her writing has also appeared in Dance Magazine, the Brooklyn Rail, and the Columbia Daily Spectator, as well as on several other blogs and websites.
